Forms of Support Offered

In line with current CLG guidelines Clear Housing is at the forefront of introducing Outcome Based Needs Assessments into our housing support based service provision.  This is based on the Worcester model which has been adopted by Birmingham City Council SP team.  Our overall support is based on five key areas as follows.

Economic Well Being

This includes maximizing a service user’s income including helping them to access correct benefits, and helping them to access money advice services to maintain their financial independence and supporting them to budget and reduce debt and achieve appropriate expenditure.  Additionally, we would support them to access employment, career or educational opportunities and develop their life skills by building on their initial risk assessment where their individual life skills have been assessed.

Enjoying and Achieving

This includes helping the service users to access Social, cultural and leisure activities through local leisure and cultural centres.  We also help them to develop their interpersonal skills.

Being Healthy

Here we support service users to access primary healthcare services such as GPs and opticians or more specific health requirements such as accessing learning disability and mental health services.  We also support them through our ongoing life skills work in other areas such as helping to address issues such as personal appearance and hygiene-maintaining healthy and hygienic personal environment.

Safety and Security

This includes Supporting service users to identify and manage risk, maintaining social, cultural and family networks. Additionally, we also help to address any needs in terms of their Housekeeping which could include issues such as their personal safety within the home, Emergency and safety skills.

Social and Civic Partnerships

Support or encouragement with maintaining social, community and family networks is provided.  As well as help to maintain or develop cultural or religious beliefs.  Other issues such as support to addressing anti-social behaviour issues are tackled within this area of support.
